Terry Harrison– Spring Landscape in Acrylics
Terry’s first career was in graphics, moving on to become an illustrator for Yellow Pages. During this time he continued to paint in the evenings and at weekends developing his own techniques. In 1989 Terry started his own Fine Art publishing company which led to an array of books, DVD’s, brushes, jigsaw puzzles, paints and many other items which can be seen on his website. A popular demonstrator we look forward to an entertaining evening with Terry.

Tim Rose - Venice in Watercolour


Tim Rose is a British Watercolour Artist specialising in the portrayal of buildings, gardens and cityscapes. With a degree in fine art he works mostly in watercolour and travels throughout Europe and USA. Tim has worked professionally for 20 years including working with the Royal Watercolour Society and The Royal Institute of Watercolourists. Many of his paintings have been reproduced as cards and prints, he is commissioned by many leading companies and institutions to provide paintings for their offices.

Graham Laughton - Landscape in Oils


Graham lives in Laxton, Nottinghamshire. He studied at Nottingham College of art and Winchester school of art, he is a ‘Royal Talens’ award winner at the Patching’s Artist and Leisure painter magazine competition. Graham works in oils and pastels with a passion for dramatic lighting and strong colours, teaching both individuals and small groups at his studio as well as at Patching’s art studio, Nottinghamshire.

Peter Barker - Oil Summer Landscape


Peter was born in the market town of Banbury, where, as a boy, he spent most of his time fishing, observing the wildlife and the beauty of the surroundings. It soon became apparent he had a natural talent for drawing and painting. Peter paints mostly in oils, he is known especially for his depiction of water, trees, foliage and vegetation. Les Darlow - Pastel Sky/landscape


Les is the first ambassador of ‘Canson’ Art in the UK and an associate member of the’ Pastel Society of America’. Born in Blackpool, Lancashire in 1961 he trained as a technical and scientific illustrator.  Freeing himself from the preciseness of photo realistic painting Les produces dramatic pastel paintings, based on light, energy and movement, with a passion for weather and landscapes.

Jo Allsop - Animals in Watercolour


Jo was born in Wales and is mainly self-taught, however she did train to be a tutor which led her to work at many colleges. As a mature student she decided to complete a course at London College of art. Jo works from ‘Sable Studio Gallery’ within the grounds of ‘Moira Furnace museum’ Derbyshire, where she hold private classes. Tom Shepherd - Exotic Birds in Acrylics


Born in Leamington Spa in 1985, Tom always had an interest in drawing and painting which continued through his school years. As an adult Tom worked freelance creating custom artwork for guitars and other musical instruments. In 2011 he made a move towards fine art painting and took an apprentice position at the ‘Trevor Waugh’ studio in Cheltenham. Tom likes to capture the light that falls across a scene or subject rather than focusing too heavily on the subject itself. From giant sea cliffs and valleys to the intrigue of people and places or simply the shadows cast across a sunlit street his work is captivating.

Andy Shore - Airbrush

Andy is a self-taught artist who has been painting for the last 30 years. A winner at Patching’s art festival he received an award from Daler Rowney, also best painting at the Kirby Bellars art society for the last three consecutive years and has work featured in a number of magazines and books. His work is currently on display at the Cank street gallery in Leicester, a gallery he works closely besides who held Andy’s solo exhibition. The artists who have inspired Andy are David Curtis, Alvaro Castagnet and Joseph Zbukvic. This time Andy will be demonstrating his talent with Airbrushing. 





In December there will not be a meeting/demonstration

Angela Gaughan – Wildlife in Acrylics


Angela is president and a founder member of our society, also a professional associate member of the SAA and a regular contributor of the Leisure Painter magazine. Angela has published a book “How to Paint Wild Animals in acrylic” which can be purchased through the society. Angela holds regular workshops, demonstrations and classes in her own studio as well as teaching Windsor and Newton watercolours on P & O cruise ships, she is also very well known for her commissioned portraits and wildlife studies.

Steven Mcloughlin - Oil Seascape


Steven was born in 1970 and is a self-taught artist. Showing a serious interest in art from the age of 16 he concentrated mainly on pencil portraits. A flair for fine architectural drawing led Breedon books to hand Steve his first commission at the age of 19, illustrating a series of street scenes of Old Derby. That eye for detail was also drawing him to wildlife subjects and landscapes. Steven has been painting professionally for over 10 years and during this time has become experienced in using many different mediums. He spends a lot of time on the coast, walking the north Norfolk and Cornish coastlines as well as the Derbyshire countryside where he lives.

Robert Guy – Acrylic Portrait


A young Robert’s fascination with art gallery’s inspired him to study the work of great artists and develop his own ability. He has been working as a professional artist for over 20 years. During this time he has worked as a fine artist, illustrator, designer, storyboard artist and art teacher. Robert has exhibited in galleries such as the ‘Burlington’ in London and the ‘Fel’ gallery in Singapore. His commissions range from prestigious sporting venues such as St. Andrews and Gleneagles golf clubs to numerous animal and people portraits.
